FAQs

Hats, Hatinators, Fascinators, Halos & Headbands

A hat, hatinator and fascinator each offer a different style and level of coverage.

A hat is a full headpiece with a structured crown and brim, giving the most coverage and a classic, elegant silhouette.

A hatinator sits between a hat and a fascinator—usually worn on a headband or comb, it offers the shape and presence of a hat without a full crown.

A fascinator is the lightest option, typically a small decorative piece featuring trims, feathers or sculpted elements, designed to add detail without covering much of the head.

Yes — I can match colours to your outfit.

To get the closest possible match, you can send a fabric swatch, thread sample or any item in the exact colour you’d like me to work from.

Some base materials can also be dyed, allowing for a near‑perfect colour match. I’ll guide you through the best option once I see what you’re hoping to achieve.

You can order ready‑made pieces directly through the website.

For bespoke creations, simply get in touch to discuss what you’d like. We’ll chat through your ideas, colours, styling and any event details, then I’ll guide you through the next steps to create your custom piece.

To begin a bespoke order, I’ll need a few key details from you. It’s helpful to know the date and type of event, the colours or outfit you’d like the piece to complement, and any styles or shapes you’re drawn to. If you have inspiration images or ideas, you’re welcome to share those too. Once I have this information, we can discuss options and start shaping your custom design.

The cost of a bespoke creation varies depending on the design.

Because every custom piece is made to your exact requirements, I can only give an accurate price after a consultation.

Once we’ve discussed your ideas, materials, colours and the level of detail you’d like, I’ll provide a clear quote before any work begins.

Measuring your head is simple and helps ensure the perfect fit.

Use a soft tape measure and place it around your head where a hat would naturally sit—just above your eyebrows and ears, and around the widest part at the back. Keep the tape snug but not tight. The measurement in centimetres is your head size. If you’re unsure, you can send me your measurement and I’ll guide you from there.

To keep your headwear looking its best, a little care goes a long way. Store your piece in a hat box or somewhere dry and out of direct sunlight to protect the shape and colour. Avoid getting it wet, and handle it by the base rather than any decorative trims.

If a headpiece or feathers are a little squashed, then just waft quickly over some GENTLE steam and it will bring feathers back to life.

For deeper cleaning or repairs, feel free to get in touch and I can advise on the best approach.
